Nagpur is home. We have drawn hotels here on tight corner plots, on farmland at the edge of the city and inside the airport city at MIHAN, and it is still the place where we know a site before we have finished measuring it.
Hospitality in Nagpur began for us in 1982, with Hotel Tuli Skylark. The Tuli Group has come back since for Tuli International, Tuli Imperial, the villas and banquet halls at Amrit Farms, Grand Imperial and now Tuli Mihan. Orient, Sayaji, Essentia, AM Hospitality and Buildcon have each built here too.
What the city asks for changes with the plot. A business hotel on a corner site has to move a banquet crowd in and out without ever crossing the arrival court, and park both at once. A five-star kitchen has to reach every outlet in the building without a trolley ever passing a guest. Farmland at the edge takes villas and a lawn instead, and services that have to be made rather than tapped. Each of those is a plan problem long before it is an elevation.

Do you design the interiors as well as the building?
On almost every project here, yes. Guest rooms, suites, restaurants, bars, banquet and conference halls, spa, gym and the back of house are drawn by the same studio, with furniture and equipment specified by the same team — so the ceiling the interior wants and the duct the services need are resolved in one model rather than argued about on site.
Can you work on a hotel at MIHAN?
Hotel Tuli Mihan was drawn for exactly that setting. A plot inside an airport city is governed differently from a city plot and is planned against an approach rather than a street, which changes where arrival, banquet and service entries can sit.
What does a Nagpur hotel project usually include?
The full appointment — architecture, structure, mechanical and electrical, fire fighting, interior design and landscape. Statutory liaisoning and government approvals coordination are not in scope.
