An outdoor banquet lawn brings nature into the plan, and a rooftop pool and restaurant close the sequence above the city.

Nagpur is where the studio sits and where the record is deepest — eleven named hotels in the city, beginning in 1982. Essentia Group came to it as a first-time client.

Organising guest rooms, suites and banquet space around a shared core is the central problem of a city hotel rather than a stylistic choice. The banquet crowd arrives in a surge, the residents expect quiet, and both use the same building at the same hour. What separates them is the plan, decided in the first weeks and impossible to correct afterwards.

An outdoor lawn and a rooftop pool and restaurant are, in revenue terms, the two ends of the same argument: function space that earns without consuming a floor plate, and a top floor that earns rather than merely housing plant.
