A luxury wildlife resort built to keep an architectural conversation with the forest going.
Opulent cottages and tented accommodation are placed for privacy and an unobstructed line out to the wilderness.
The language balances rustic charm against contemporary luxury in stone, wood and terracotta. The pool area is set into the existing terrain rather than cut across it.
Tented accommodation inside a reserve is not a cheaper room. It carries the same servicing as a built one — power, water, drainage, fire detection — delivered to a structure that can hide none of it, which is where most of the drawing goes.
Setting the pool into the existing terrain rather than cutting a level for it keeps the excavation down and the trees that would have come out with it standing. Tuli had been commissioning us for thirty years by the time this one was drawn.
